Straight answers to the questions parents ask us most.
What does OEKO-TEX Class I actually mean?
It is an independent safety test of the finished garment: the fabric, the thread, the snaps and the dye. Class I is the strictest level, written for babies and toddlers up to three: tighter limits on every substance, and every part tested for the moment it ends up in a mouth.
Every GLYN & CO. piece is certified to Class I.
Bamboo or cotton: which should I choose?
Both are certified to the same standard, so it comes down to feel. Bamboo is the cooler, silkier one; most parents keep it for sleep and warm rooms. Cotton is lighter and easier to wash without a second thought, so it suits play and daytime.
Many families keep both: bamboo for nights, cotton for days.
What is a TOG rating, and what goes underneath?
TOG is simply a measure of warmth. Our sleep sacks are 1.0 TOG, the mid-weight most families use all year.
As a guide: at 20 to 22°C, a long-sleeve romper underneath. At 22 to 24°C, a short-sleeve bodysuit. Above 24°C, a nappy and a light bodysuit. The best check is the back of the neck: warm and dry is right.
When do we move from a swaddle to a sleep sack?
At the first sign of rolling, usually between 8 and 12 weeks. A sleep sack keeps the cosy feeling of a swaddle with the arms free, which is what makes it safe once your baby starts to roll.
Our sleep sacks start at 6 months. Until then, our muslin swaddles do the job.
Which size should I order?
Our sizes run by age and are cut with room to grow, so each size lasts its full span rather than a few weeks. Between sizes, or a long baby? Take the larger one.

How do I wash it?
Cold, gentle cycle, inside out, with a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener: it coats the fibre and dulls the softness. Lay flat to dry, or tumble on low.
Bamboo may pill lightly over time. Washing it away from towels, denim and velcro keeps it smooth.
How quickly will my order arrive?
We dispatch from Canada within 1 to 2 business days. Shipping is complimentary on Canada and US orders over $100.
US orders have duties collected at checkout, so there is nothing to pay at the door.
What if it doesn't fit?
Unworn, unwashed pieces with tags attached can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Email us at contact@glynandco.com and we will send instructions the same day.
